Viola Womack with one of her many trout caught in New Mexico on vacation. Viola caught fish all day and is very tired. Now she has to clean the fish and cook them. She is one of the reasons Bonita loves to fish so much. The women fished in Bonita's family and the men did the hunting, that is until Bonita's dad put a 12-guage shotgun in her arms at the age of 12. Then watch out. Viola has since passed and Bonita has these wonderful memories.

I went fishin' with Cedar Creek Lake Guide Chuck Rollins 1(903)288-5798 and filmed a great show. We shot docks, fished brush piles and caught sand bass and catfish as well. Be sure to watch. Chuck is lots of fun.

Lake Tawakoni catching Dec 07 filming Lady On The Lake tv show, a Time Warner production, with lake guide Jimmy Smith. The day started off great. We had a 5 lb. black bass, 6 lb hybrid, 3 lb catfish and two huge sandies in the boat before 9 am. Didn't think to get a photo of the bass dang it, but it was great. First, I want to compliment you on your Time Warner fishing show, "Lady On The Lake". I and Paula thoroughly enjoy it and watch it as often as we can. We live in Richardson, TX and have spent the past 2 summers fishing down at Cleburne State Park. We fish there almost exclusively because the ramp never closed last year and there are no personal watercraft allowed as it is only a 114 acre lake. I was so thrilled to net the 7lb. bass in the following picture for Paula about a month ago. She caught it on a Bill Dance ‘Tiger Stripe’ Fat Free Shad crank bait around noon, right before a storm hit. It made her season as it is the biggest fish she ever caught. Thanks again for the great show and we hope we can meet up for some fishing. Proud husband Scott

I (Bonita Staples) was invited to go fish with David and Susan Parziale. This trip was Susans birthday trip from her husband David. Guide Jimmy Smith took us on a great adventure. We caught loads of hybrid stripers and two Stripers. One that I (Bonita Staples) caught weighed close to 11 lbs. 30 inches long. It was caught on Mister Twister Sassy Shad and a 3/4 oz shad head in about 3 ft of water. The Striper had a 6 inch Shad in its stomach.

Chris Rhodes got second place and won Rod and Reel donated by Shimano. Chris had never used a bait caster until this contest. Bonita showed him how to cast with it. He was getting pretty good. Justin Frazell road with Bob Scott "Easy View Tackle System", a regular on the pool and a great angler, got first place and also won a rod and reel donated by Shimano. One of the contestants couldn't make it. Maybe next year. A special Thanks to Linda and Carroll Faires "Texas Fishing, Hunting and Outdoor Tackle Show" for getting a great prize for the contestants. Thanks everybody for the help of putting this on. The show will air in July on Comcast Cable DFW metroplex.

As usual, my best fishing is done on an overcast day with light wind.
I was invited to do a "Lady on the Lake" tv show by a friend of mine, Sammy Fly. His friend, Joe Bryant has the "Phalba Pfish Pharm" in East Texas out by Purtis Creek. I had the best time catching Rainbow Trout, Crappie, Bass and even a small catfish. He stocks ponds for folks all over with all kinds of fish. The show will air soon as it is edited. The pictures are of my daughter and I one day she kicked my behind with a buzz bait. I had to stop and watch her retrieve, she was pulling up on the bait everytime she cranked the reel. She had caught a couple of 4 lbers. that day. I have been fishing at night nothing is better than throwing in complete black and a 5 lber. slams your bait. I am convinced that there day fish and night fish. The night fish are all clean with out hook marks.

This is what Dillon and I did yesterday (April 9, 2004). 9lb.10oz. 28.5 inches long. We had a hoot. He did it all except for the landing. It got wrapped around two other lines, and I took it to net it. Mark Macnamara
Had a cancelation today so I took a Friend out today for some Bait fishing. Bait was again hard to find.. But we got about 40 and that was all we needed. I anchored again on the ledge between Ti point and Washita Point. We had our 20 fish by 9am and released a few more after that. Biggest one today was 7 1/2 lbs. Others were 16-19 inchers.... Fish Story
This was a pretty interesting story from The Sunday Wichita Eagle Newspaper a
couple of weeks ago. A resident in the area saw a ball bouncing around
kind of strange in a nearby pond and went to investigate. It turned out to be a
flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a child's basketball which
became stuck in its mouth!!
The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the
ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The resident tried numerous
times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the
ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish.
